Kartapur Sahib Corridor Project

Since the partition, Sikhs across the globe have been undertaking Ardaas for open darshans of Gurdwaras in Pakistan. The United Sikh Mission had launched a campaign in 2005 for the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor to be opened to the Sikh community and had undertaken up the issue with the incumbent Govern- ments of both the countries. However our Prayers and efforts went unanswered. It was only after Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji assumed office that the Ardaas of every Sikh was heard after more than seven decades. In 2019, on the occasion of the 550th Prakash Purav Celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Government of India opened the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, thus paving the way for millions in the Sikh Community to pay their obeisance at Gurdwara Dar- bar Sahib Kartarpur.

This magnanimous gesture from the Prime Minister is one of the many efforts made by his Government to ensure that the cultural needs of the Sikh community, including the resolution of decades- long grievances are met. This book, “Heartfelt- The Lega-cy of Faith”, captures the praise-worthy contributions made by Modi Ji towards the Sikh community and undoubtedly brings to light his love and affection for the community.
